Robot-assisted knee replacement surgery
Surgeons of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery Department at the MNUMS Mongolia-Japan Hospital now perform robot-assisted knee replacement on their own. The technology was first introduced in Mongolia in 2023 at the same hospital, together with specialists of the Korean company CUREXO, when 5 patients were operated on; since 2026 the hospital's own team carries it out.
The robot calculates pre-operative planning, bone resection, implant position and joint balance with high precision.
